Profile

Due to an increase of activities and projects in the Netherlands and abroad, we are looking for new colleagues to help us. Currently there is one position for an architect or construction engineer and one two for interns: technical and commercial. Emphasis is on making accessible for our office abroad, our technical system based on shipping container modules for housing and hotel, preparing quotations, detailing new concepts for projects and for products, support of production locations. Tempohousing can be described best as a project developer, so most of our work is in the preparation of new projects, technically, legally and financially. Once the contracts are signed, further detailing and execution goes to specialized third party agencies. We work internationally, so fluent in English, writing and reading, is important. Travelling may be included,depending on projects and the profile of the new colleague. We try to seek a good match with present skill sets to get the best out of you and to make working for Tempo as pleasant as possible. No fixed job descriptions as long as we achieve our goals as a company.

Requirements

Tempohousing plays a role in the wide spectrum from conceptual, design to manufacturing, construction on site, financing and sometimes even operating projects and reselling units, so all team members here in Amsterdam face a divers and often changing job. Flexibility and stress resistance are key. We work in different countries, so communication skills in English must be good, be open for other cultures and be prepared to travel. The construction industry is very competitive and the regulations keep changing and are also quite different from country to country, so curiosity and perseverance are expected. Being qualified in your field goes without saying, but a strong curiosity and willing to keep learning and seeking for even better solutions help us to stay ahead of the competition. Modesty doesn’t make a champion but teamwork brings the best result. Experience can be helpful but can also be in the way. Balancing between what we dream and what we can realize is typical for an organization such as Tempohousing. Driver’s licence, living in or near Amsterdam.

Functieomschrijving

Wegens uitbreiding van activiteiten en projecten in Nederland en in het buitenland, zoeken wij bouwkundigen, architecten, projectmanagers en stagiaires om ons team te versterken. Er is nu 1 vacature beschikbaar voor een architect en 1 voor een stagiair. Afhankelijk van de projecten kan dit snel toenemen. De nieuwe collega zal zich vooral bezighouden met ons eigen bouwsysteem op basis van modulaire bouw zoals zeecontainers. De details en voorbeelden van het systeem moeten verder toegankelijk gemaakt worden en aangepast voor gebruik door onze buitenlandse vestigingen. Daarnaast veelvuldig ontwerpen voor offerte trajecten, uitwerken van bouwkundige knooppunten, het  initieren en detailleren van nieuwe (bouw) concepten en varianten en het sourcen van nieuwe bouwmaterialen en -toepassingen. Aangezien Tempohousing een projectontwikkelaar is, ligt de nadruk op het voortraject van projecten, de uitwerking nadat eenmaal contracten zijn gesloten, wordt meestal grotendeels uitbesteed aan gespecialiseerde derden. Door het 'Partner Program' (samenwerking in het buitenland) in diverse landen, hoort bij de functie ook veelvuldig overleg met kantoren in onder andere Afrika, Midden-Oosten, Australie en Noord-Amerika. Nog niet alle vestigingen zijn operationeel, maar het aantal zal snel toenemen.

Functie-eisen

Aangezien Tempohousing actief is in het hele spectrum vanaf idee / ontwerp tot fabrikage (van prefab units) tot en met realisatie (bouw op de site), financiering en soms zelfs exploitatie, is het takenpakket van alle teamleden erg divers en erg wisselend. Flexibiliteit en stress bestendigheid zijn dus van belang. Activiteiten in het buitenland over de hele wereld houden in dat je in ieder geval vloeiend Engels moet spreken en schrijven en dat je bereid moet zijn tot reizen. Deskundigheid op je vakgebied moet voorop staan (TU, HBO Bouwkunde) maar je kunt niet alles weten en bouwkundige oplossingen en regelgeving veranderen voortdurend dus nieuwsgierigheid is erg belangrijk. Net als eigenwijsheid, neem niet snel over wat men je vertelt, zoek nog dieper naar nog betere oplossingen. De bouwsector zit in zwaar weer, alleen de beste voorstellen en meest toegewijde bedrijven gaan het redden. Duurzaamheid maar met economische oplossingen zullen hoog scoren. Ervaring kan belangrijk zijn, maar kan ook belemmeren! Gevoel voor cijfers en financiën zijn altijd van belang. Gezonde balans tussen wens en haalbaarheid komt steeds terug.
